President Biden announced his campaign to run for a 2nd term

President Joe Biden announced his campaign for a second term on April 25, 2023. He made the announcement in a video released on social media, in which he framed the 2024 election as a choice between "more rights or fewer." He also criticized Republicans, saying that they are "lining up" to take away the social safety net and personal freedoms.
Biden's announcement comes at a time when he is facing low approval ratings. A recent poll found that only 38% of Americans approve of his job performance. However, he is still the favorite to win the Democratic nomination for president.

If Biden does win the nomination, he is likely to face a challenge from a Republican candidate. Former President Donald Trump has already hinted that he will run for president again in 2024. Trump is still very popular among Republicans, and he would be the clear frontrunner in the Republican primary.

The 2024 presidential election is shaping up to be a close race. Biden will need to raise a lot of money and turn out his base of support if he wants to win a second term.
