GAC Group's Subsidiary, ION Automobile Sales, to Establish Electric Vehicle Manufacturing in Thailand

Collaborative Agreement with Seven ASEAN Dealers Paves the Way for the Launch of High-Performance AION Y Plus Model

The company, ION Automobile Sales (Thailand), under the umbrella of Guangzhou Automobile Corporation or GAC Group, a major automobile manufacturer from China, has initiated investment to establish a manufacturing base for the electric vehicle model AION Y Plus in Thailand.

It is well-known that ION Automobile Sales (Thailand) is a subsidiary of the GAC Group, a renowned car manufacturer in China. On August 25, they entered into a collaborative agreement with seven leading car dealers from four ASEAN countries, namely Jinhui (Thailand), AIONIC (Thailand), V Group (Thailand), Harmony Group (Thailand), 99 Myanmar (Myanmar), Harmony Group (Vietnam), and EV HUB (Singapore).

The goal of this business partnership is to launch the AION Y Plus, the first model of the AION brand, boasting high-performance electric capabilities, into the ASEAN market. They plan to debut in Thailand as the inaugural country on September 9, 2023. This aims to elevate the alternative energy automobile market in both Thailand and the broader ASEAN region.
